A growing engineering and consulting firm is seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented CAD Drafter to join its Indianapolis office. Position Summary:
As a CAD Drafter, you will play a key role in supporting civil engineering and surveying teams by preparing detailed technical drawings, site layouts, and construction documents. You will work closely with engineers, project managers, and field staff to translate conceptual designs and field data into precise and accurate CAD drawings. Your work will directly contribute to the successful planning and execution of a wide range of projects, including land development, transportation, utilities, and municipal infrastructure.
Key Responsibilities:
- Create and revise detailed drawings using AutoCAD and other CAD software based on sketches, field notes, and verbal instructions.
- Prepare topographic maps, boundary surveys, site plans, and construction documents.
- Interpret survey data and engineering notes to produce accurate and professional drawings.
- Ensure all drawings comply with company standards, client specifications, and applicable codes.
- Collaborate with engineers and surveyors to resolve design challenges and ensure project accuracy.
- Maintain organized project files and documentation throughout the drafting process.
- Assist in quality control reviews and revisions of drawings as needed.
Qualifications:
- Associate degree in CAD drafting, engineering technology, or a related field.
- 2+ years of experience in CAD drafting, preferably in civil engineering or land surveying.
- Proficiency in AutoCAD Civil 3D is strongly preferred.
- Familiarity with GIS, Revit, or other design software is a plus.
- Strong attention to detail and ability to manage multiple tasks and deadlines.
- Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
