An established and highly regarded environmental consultancy is experiencing significant growth within its zoology and fauna practice and is seeking an experienced Senior Zoologist / Fauna Team Leader to help shape the future of the team.
This is a senior opportunity for someone who enjoys combining technical zoology work with people leadership. Key Responsibilities
- Manage and mentor a team of senior and mid‑level zoologists and field staff
- Oversee multiple fauna projects, survey programs, and technical outputs
- Provide high‑level technical advice to clients and regulators
- Lead and support zoologists and field teams across a range of project types
- Work closely with the leadership team on planning, resourcing, and workflow
- Maintain high technical standards and quality of delivery across the team
- Balance hands‑on technical involvement with team leadership and development
About You
- Bachelor's degree in Zoology, Environmental Science, or a related approved discipline
- 10+ years' practical industry experience in environmental consulting (or similar), leading fauna projects and surveys
- 5+ years' leadership or team management experience
- Extensive experience working within Western Australia's environmental impact assessment framework and legislation, including strong working knowledge of EPA survey guidelines and positions
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including strong report writing and technical review capability
- A leadership mindset, with a genuine interest in supporting people and building teams
