This is an exciting opportunity to work on technically complex projects involving machine track foundations and heavy rotating equipment, supporting capital investments, maintenance upgrades, and facility expansions.

You'll be part of a collaborative, multi-disciplinary team delivering structural solutions that directly impact production performance and reliability. This role offers the chance to work on-site at manufacturing facilities, contributing to the full project lifecycle-from concept through construction and commissioning.

Key Responsibilities

  • Design and analyze machine track foundations, equipment bases, and supporting structural systems.
  • Perform structural assessments and develop retrofitting plans for aging or modified foundations.
  • Ensure compliance with AISC, ACI, ASCE standards and internal safety and quality guidelines.
  • Collaborate with process, mechanical, and civil engineering teams to align structural support with operational needs.
  • Review vendor drawings and coordinate with equipment suppliers to ensure proper alignment and loading.
  • Conduct structural inspections during installation and commissioning phases.
  • Prepare technical reports, specifications, and construction drawings.
  • Provide engineering support during construction, including RFIs and field changes.
  • Participate in site walks, troubleshooting, and maintenance planning.

What They're Looking For

  • Bachelor's degree in Civil or Structural Engineering.
  • 5-10 years of structural engineering experience in heavy industrial settings.
  • Proven expertise in machine foundation or machine track design, ideally in the pulp and paper industry.
  • Proficiency in structural analysis tools such as STAAD.Pro, RISA, or SAP2000.
  • Strong understanding of vibration, load transfer, settlement, and dynamic forces.
  • Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
  • Willingness to travel to mills and project sites as required.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience with foundations for paper machines, turbines, pumps, or similar dynamic equipment.
  • Familiarity with soil-structure interaction and geotechnical coordination.
  • Knowledge of building expansions or retrofitting existing structures.
  • Experience supporting mill shutdowns or fast-track construction projects.
