Structural Engineer
A well established structural engineering firm in the Greater San Diego area is seeking a Structural Engineer to join their team. The firm works across a wide mix of commercial, municipal, utility, and public sector projects and is known for its collaborative culture, strong employee tenure, and hands on technical environment. Responsibilities:
- Perform structural analysis and design for commercial, municipal, utility, substation, and water or wastewater projects
- Support building renovations, tenant improvements, and select school and healthcare related work
- Prepare calculations, plans, and technical documentation
- Coordinate with architects, contractors, and internal team members
- Review project requirements and develop solutions that meet codes and performance goals
- Participate in internal design reviews and quality checks
- Provide work samples during the interview process to demonstrate technical competency
Ideal Qualifications:
- Minimum 5 years of structural engineering experience
- PE license in California
- Proficiency with concrete, steel, and wood design
- Ability to prepare clear calculations and design packages
- Strong understanding of load paths, building codes, and typical structural systems
- Strong communication skills and ability to work well in a collaborative team setting
- Local to the Greater San Diego area or able to commute to the El Cajon area for a hybrid schedule of four days in the office and one day remote
