Structural Engineer
About the Role
We are seeking a motivated Project Engineer (Junior Level Structural Engineer) to join our growing team. In this role, you will contribute to the repair, rehabilitation, and design of new structures while supporting construction administration for a variety of structural renovation and rehabilitation projects. You will work closely with senior engineers, contractors, and owners to ensure the successful execution of structural engineering solutions.
Key Responsibilities
- Interpret and review construction documents.
- Prepare and evaluate construction estimates and related materials.
- Communicate effectively with contractors, owners, and project stakeholders.
- Prepare written reports, letters, field reports, and meeting minutes.
- Inspect existing field conditions and determine appropriate repair methods.
- Observe construction work for conformance to design documents and direct contractor personnel as needed.
- Perform structural design and analysis for buildings and other structures.
- Evaluate static and dynamic structural loads to ensure code compliance and safety.
- Develop creative, efficient solutions to engineering and construction challenges.
- Prepare design drawings, specifications, and technical submissions.
- Administer construction contracts and coordinate technical documents prepared by others.
- Review shop drawings, submittals, shoring plans, and design calculations, providing recommendations for approval.
Qualifications
- Bachelor of Science in Civil Engineering.
- 3-5 years of relevant structural engineering experience.
- EIT Certification required; PE licensure is a plus.
- Proficiency in AutoCAD; familiarity with structural design software is a plus.
- Strong skills in MS Office (Word, Excel, etc.).
- Effective verbal communicator with intermediate report-writing abilities.
- Ability to work independently or collaboratively within a team.
- Ability to travel to project sites as required.
- Capable of working with minimal supervision.
- Suspended/Stationary Scaffold Certification is a plus.
