LVI Associates is representing a leading multidisciplinary engineering firm in the search for a Structural Engineer with experience in data centers and/or industrial/manufacturing facilities. This is a critical hire supporting complex, high-performance facilities for global clients, with strong exposure to mission-critical environments.
This role offers the opportunity to take ownership of technically demanding projects, work directly with clients, and contribute to the delivery of highly resilient, large-scale infrastructure.
Key Responsibilities
The following duties are representative of the role and are not exhaustive. Responsibilities center on delivering high-quality structural engineering solutions on schedule and within budget in a collaborative team environment:
- Apply advanced knowledge of structural engineering principles to the design of data centers, mission-critical facilities, and industrial buildings
- Lead structural design efforts, including steel, concrete, and foundation systems, ensuring alignment with project requirements and performance standards
- Serve as a technical lead or project engineer, taking responsibility for key design decisions and, where applicable, sealing drawings as the engineer of record
- Plan, coordinate, and execute medium to large-scale projects, managing scope, budget, schedule, and interdisciplinary coordination
- Work closely with clients, architects, contractors, and MEP teams to resolve technical challenges and deliver integrated solutions
- Perform and oversee structural analysis, seismic design, and detailing, particularly in regions with elevated seismic demands
- Review and approve material selections, shop drawings, and construction submittals to ensure compliance and quality standards
- Provide technical leadership and mentorship to junior engineers and designers, supporting their development and project delivery
- Identify scope changes and proactively communicate impacts to project leadership
- Contribute to risk management efforts, including identifying vulnerabilities related to load paths, constructability, and long-term performance
- Support client engagement activities, including project presentations, progress updates, and relationship development
- Participate in business development initiatives and help expand the firm's presence in the mission-critical and industrial markets
- Maintain ongoing professional development and stay current with evolving codes, standards, and technologies
- Travel as required to support project and client needs
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Civil or Structural Engineering (required)
- PE license required; SE licensure strongly preferred
- Typically 8+ years of structural engineering experience, with a focus on complex building systems
- Demonstrated experience delivering industrial, manufacturing, and/or data center projects
- Strong knowledge of U.S. structural design codes and standards (ASCE, ACI, AISC, IBC, and applicable regional amendments)
- Experience designing for seismic conditions, including detailing for higher seismic design categories (D-F)
- Proficiency with industry-standard tools such as BIM platforms (ACC/BIM360), Bluebeam, and Navisworks
- Strong ability to lead multi-disciplinary coordination across complex projects
- Proven client-facing experience, with the ability to lead technical discussions and build lasting relationships
- Highly organized with strong communication skills and attention to detail
