The Role
The Senior Wastewater Lead will serve as a technical authority and practice leader within the wastewater group, supporting municipal and utility clients across a diverse portfolio of treatment and infrastructure projects.
Key responsibilities include:
- Leading the planning, design, and delivery of wastewater treatment facilities, including biological treatment, nutrient removal, solids handling, and plant upgrades
- Acting as a senior technical reviewer and problem‑solver for complex process and operational challenges
- Providing technical mentorship to engineers across multiple experience levels
- Supporting business development through proposal development, client engagement, and strategic growth initiatives
- Collaborating with multidisciplinary teams across civil, structural, and environmental functions
- Serving as a trusted advisor to clients throughout project lifecycles, from concept through commissioning
Required Qualifications & Experience
- Bachelor's degree in Civil, Environmental, or related Engineering discipline
- Active Professional Engineer (PE) license, or the ability to obtain PE licensure within six months
- Significant experience in wastewater treatment process design and delivery, ideally within municipal or utility environments
- Strong knowledge of biological treatment systems, solids processing, and regulatory compliance
- Experience leading projects and mentoring engineers
- Excellent communication skills with the ability to interface confidently with clients, regulators, and internal stakeholders
