P&C Engineer
Position Overview:
We are seeking a skilled and motivated Substation Protection & Control Engineer to support the design, analysis, and implementation of protection systems for transmission and distribution substations. This role is critical to ensuring the safe, reliable, and efficient operation of the electric grid. The ideal candidate will have experience in relay settings, control schemes, and substation automation.
Key Responsibilities:
- Design and develop protection and control systems for utility substations, including relay settings, control logic, and communication protocols.
- Analyze protective relay operations and system performance to ensure proper coordination and reliability.
- Prepare detailed engineering drawings, specifications, and documentation for substation automation and protection systems.
- Support substation maintenance and installation activities by providing technical guidance and oversight.
- Conduct fault analysis, coordination studies, and develop switching orders as needed.
- Collaborate with internal teams and external stakeholders to ensure compliance with industry standards and regulatory requirements.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or related field.
- 3+ years of experience in substation protection and control engineering.
- Proficiency with protective relay software and CAD tools.
- Familiarity with NERC, IEEE, and utility standards.
- Strong analytical, communication, and problem-solving skills.
- PE license or ability to obtain is preferred.
