Distribution Planning Assistant Manager
Position Summary
The Assistant Manager will lead and manage Distribution Planning activities focused on Distributed Energy Resource (DER) interconnections and power quality analyses across the distribution system. This role involves working closely with internal and external stakeholders to make sure strategies and processes support a safe, reliable, and accessible electric grid.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead technical studies related to power quality and DER, including voltage, reliability, harmonics, and capacity assessments.
- Develop and maintain models to support distribution system studies.
- Provide technical expertise to internal teams, industry committees, and regulatory bodies, including participation in IEEE standards development and stakeholder processes.
- Contribute to strategic planning for future technologies and integration of systems, processes, and data.
- Represent Distribution Planning in stakeholder meetings and technical discussions.
- Foster a high-performance team culture through hiring, mentoring, and continuous improvement.
Required Skills
- Strong analytical skills to solve complex technical problems.
- Clear and effective communication aligned with legal, regulatory, and corporate standards.
- Proven leadership and ability to guide and motivate technical teams.
Education & Experience
- High School Diploma, GED, or equivalent with 9+ years of utility industry experience, or
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering or a science-related field with 5+ years of utility industry experience.
- PE license is a plus.
