About the Opportunity:
LVI is seeking a detail-oriented and motivated Plumbing Designer to join a growing team in Philadelphia, PA. This is an excellent opportunity for a designer who is passionate about building systems and wants to contribute to a variety of impactful projects across commercial, institutional, and public sectors.
You'll be part of a collaborative environment where innovation, technical precision, and professional development are highly valued. From schematic design through construction documentation, you'll help deliver efficient, code-compliant plumbing systems that support high-performance buildings.
Key Responsibilities:
- Design plumbing systems including domestic water, sanitary waste, storm drainage, and natural gas systems.
- Prepare construction documents including drawings, specifications, and technical reports.
- Perform calculations for pipe sizing, pressure loss, and equipment selection.
- Coordinate with architects, engineers, and contractors to ensure integrated and accurate designs.
- Conduct site visits and field assessments to support design development and construction administration.
- Ensure compliance with applicable plumbing codes, standards, and sustainability goals.
Qualifications:
- Associate degree or technical certification in mechanical or plumbing design, or equivalent experience.
- 3-8 years of experience in plumbing design for buildings.
- Proficiency in AutoCAD and Revit.
- Familiarity with plumbing codes and standards (IPC, UPC, NFPA, etc.).
- Strong communication and teamwork skills.
- Ability to manage multiple projects and meet deadlines.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience with sustainable design and water conservation strategies.
- Familiarity with Philadelphia plumbing codes and permitting processes.
- Experience working on multidisciplinary project teams.
- CPD (Certified Plumbing Designer) certification or in progress.
