Senior PM Substation Construction
Role Overview
Key Responsibilities
- Lead end-to-end execution of high-voltage substation construction, expansion, and upgrade projects.
- Establish and manage Earned Value Management (EVM) systems to track cost, schedule, productivity, and forecast accuracy.
- Develop and maintain integrated project schedules; drive critical path analysis and recovery plans.
- Own project cost management: estimating, budgeting, forecasting, variance analysis, and change control.
- Direct field and office teams to ensure adherence to scope, safety, quality, and regulatory requirements.
- Manage subcontractors, suppliers, OEMs, and engineering partners to maintain schedule and cost discipline.
- Provide executive-level reporting on project performance, risks, and mitigation strategies.
- Ensure compliance with utility substation standards, construction best practices, and contractual obligations.
- Proactively identify risks and implement corrective actions to protect margin and delivery commitments.
Required Experience
- 10+ years of progressive experience managing substation construction projects.
- Demonstrated expertise in Earned Value Management and cost control on large, multi-million-dollar programs.
- Proven record of delivering projects on time and within budget.
- Deep understanding of substation construction methods, equipment integration, sequencing, and regulatory environments.
- Experience managing complex schedules, multiple crews, and concurrent workstreams.
