Position Overview:
We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Construction Superintendent to oversee industrial construction projects in the Chicago area. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in managing the field operations of large-scale industrial facilities, including warehouses, distribution centers, manufacturing plants, and logistics hubs. This role requires a hands-on leader with a deep understanding of industrial construction methods, safety protocols, and schedule management.
Key Responsibilities:
Lead on-site construction activities for industrial projects from groundbreaking through completion.
Supervise subcontractors, vendors, and field personnel to ensure quality and safety standards are met.
Coordinate daily site operations, including logistics, inspections, and material deliveries.
Maintain and update project schedules, ensuring milestones are met on time and within budget.
Enforce compliance with OSHA regulations and company safety policies.
Conduct regular site meetings and collaborate with project managers, engineers, and clients.
Ensure adherence to construction documents, specifications, and local building codes.
Manage site documentation including daily reports, safety logs, and inspection records.
Qualifications:
Minimum 7+ years of experience in commercial or industrial construction, with at least 3 years as a Superintendent on industrial projects.
Strong knowledge of concrete tilt-up, steel structures, MEP systems, and site development.
Experience with large-scale warehouse, logistics, or manufacturing facilities.
Proficiency in construction management software (e.g., Procore, Bluebeam, MS Project).
OSHA 30 certification required.
Excellent leadership, communication, and organizational skills.
Preferred Qualifications:
Experience with design-build and fast-track project delivery methods.
Familiarity with Chicago-area permitting and inspection processes.
LEED or sustainability-focused project experience is a plus.
