About the Role
We are seeking an experienced Water Resources Technical Lead to guide multidisciplinary teams in the planning, analysis, and design of innovative water resource and civil infrastructure projects across Texas. This role will provide technical leadership, mentor junior staff, support strategic pursuits, and help deliver solutions that improve resilience, sustainability, and the long-term management of Texas' water systems.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead and oversee technical delivery of water resources projects, including watershed management, stormwater systems, flood risk mitigation, hydrologic/hydraulic modeling, and water supply planning.
- Serve as a technical expert on H&H modeling (e.g., HEC‑HMS, HEC‑RAS, SWMM, 2D models).
- Guide development of feasibility studies, planning documents, design plans, specifications, and reports.
- Coordinate with public agencies, utilities, and local municipalities throughout Texas.
- Mentor project engineers and provide quality assurance/quality control on deliverables.
- Support proposal development, client presentations, and strategic business development initiatives.
- Ensure compliance with FEMA, TWDB, TxDOT, TCEQ, and other applicable state/federal standards.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering, Water Resources Engineering, or related field (Master's preferred).
- Professional Engineer (PE) licensce
- 10+ years of progressive experience in water resources engineering, modeling, or design.
- Proven experience leading technical teams on complex hydrology, hydraulics, or stormwater projects.
- Strong understanding of Texas regulatory frameworks and agency requirements.
- Excellent communication, leadership, and client‐engagement skills.
Preferred Experience
- Experience with Texas flood planning regions, TWDB funding programs, or FEMA mapping projects.
- Proficiency with GIS applications and 2D modeling tools (e.g., HEC‑RAS 2D, XP‑SWMM, TUFLOW).
- Background in resilient design, watershed master planning, or green infrastructure.
- Ability to contribute to project pursuit strategies and client development.
