Salary: $80,000 - $130,000
Summary
We are seeking an Applications Engineer to support the development of custom automation and robotics solutions for manufacturing clients. This role will work closely with customers to understand technical requirements, develop concepts, scope projects, prepare proposals, and support the successful handoff of projects to execution teams. The position offers exposure to robotics, controls, machine vision, motion control, and advanced manufacturing technologies.
Requirements
- Develop automation system concepts and solutions based on customer needs
- Scope projects and support the creation of technical proposals and cost estimates
- Engage directly with customers to gather requirements and define project objectives
- Collaborate with sales, engineering, and project teams throughout the project lifecycle
- Support presentations, design reviews, and technical discussions with customers
- Evaluate automation technologies including robotics, PLCs, vision systems, and motion control solutions
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering or a related technical discipline
- Experience in automation, robotics, controls, machine building, or system integration
- Customer-facing engineering or applications engineering experience preferred
- Knowledge of PLCs, robotics, machine vision, motion control, and industrial automation systems
- Strong communication and problem-solving skills
- Experience with proposal development, project scoping, or estimating is highly desirable
- CAD experience (AutoCAD, SolidWorks, or similar) is a plus
