About the Role
We are seeking a Senior Controls Engineer to support the design, development, and delivery of custom automation solutions across a wide range of manufacturing industries.
This is a hands-on technical leadership role focused on leading automation projects from concept through commissioning. The successful candidate will work closely with mechanical, electrical, manufacturing, and customer teams while serving as a key technical resource throughout project execution.
The ideal candidate will bring a strong background in PLC programming, robotics, machine vision, system integration, and commissioning, along with the ability to mentor engineers and lead complex automation projects.
Responsibilities
- Lead automation projects from concept through startup and customer acceptance
- Develop PLC, robotics, machine vision, and controls solutions
- Design controls architecture and industrial networks
- Drive commissioning, troubleshooting, and startup activities
- Support project concepting, quoting, and technical planning
- Provide technical leadership and mentor junior engineers
- Work closely with mechanical and electrical teams on turnkey automation systems
- Interface directly with customers throughout project execution
- Travel to customer sites for installations, training, and support
Qualifications
- 5-10+ years of Controls Engineering or Automation Engineering experience
- Strong PLC programming experience (Allen-Bradley, Siemens, or similar)
- Experience with robotics integration and machine vision systems
- Background in system integration, custom machinery, or automation projects
- Strong troubleshooting, commissioning, and startup experience
- Ability to lead projects and provide technical direction
- Customer-facing communication and project leadership experience
- Engineering degree or equivalent industry experience
