Associate Director / Senior Manager - Climate Risk, Investment & Strategy

Job Title

Associate Director / Senior Manager - Climate Risk, Investment & Strategy

(Title flexible depending on candidate)

About the Role

We are seeking an experienced climate risk and investment advisory leader to support senior decision‑making at the intersection of climate policy, energy transition, infrastructure and capital allocation.

This role sits above traditional climate "reporting" positions and focuses on integrating climate risk, scenario analysis and policy pathways into real investment, strategy and infrastructure decisions across government and private‑sector clients.

You will work closely with senior executives, investors and policymakers to assess risk, shape strategy, and unlock value in the energy transition.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead climate risk and scenario analysis (physical and transition), applying IPCC‑aligned frameworks and policy pathways to inform strategic, operational and investment decisions.
  • Advise on the integration of climate risk into capital allocation, including investment due diligence, portfolio strategy, infrastructure planning and market entry assessments.
  • Deliver investment‑grade technical and commercial advice across energy transition assets and platforms (e.g. renewables, storage, net‑zero manufacturing, emerging clean technologies).
  • Interpret and translate climate, energy and sustainability policy into actionable guidance for government agencies, infrastructure owners, investors and corporates.
  • Lead and mentor multi‑disciplinary teams across climate risk, economics, engineering, policy and commercial advisory.
  • Engage extensively with senior stakeholders, including government departments, institutional investors, infrastructure owners and boards, shaping outcomes in high‑pressure, multi‑stakeholder environments.
  • Contribute to thought leadership, market development and the evolution of climate risk and investment advisory offerings.

About You

  • 8-12+ years' experience across climate risk, energy markets, sustainability strategy, investment advisory or infrastructure consulting.
  • Demonstrated expertise in climate risk and scenario analysis, including qualitative and applied use of IPCC pathways (SSPs/RCPs) and policy‑led transition analysis.
  • Strong background advising on energy transition investment, infrastructure strategy, or investment due diligence, with exposure to public funding programs, private capital or asset acquisition.
  • Experience operating at Senior Manager / Associate Director level, leading teams and owning client relationships.
  • Proven ability to translate complex technical, policy and market inputs into clear, decision‑ready advice for senior leaders.
  • Background spanning consulting, government, infrastructure, energy or climate advisory environments.
  • Excellent communication skills and a reputation for credibility with senior stakeholders.

Why This Role

  • Work on front‑of‑market issues where climate risk directly informs investment and strategy.
  • Influence real capital deployment and infrastructure outcomes, not just disclosure.
  • Operate at the intersection of climate policy, energy transition and investment.
  • Opportunity to shape and grow a high‑impact advisory capability.
