We are looking for an experienced Automation Engineer to join its growing engineering consulting team. This role offers the opportunity to work across a wide range of industries while designing, programming, commissioning, and supporting advanced automation systems from concept through implementation.
What You'll Be Doing
- Design, develop, program, and commission industrial automation systems.
- Work with PLCs, HMIs, SCADA platforms, robotics, motion control, and process control technologies.
- Lead projects through all stages including design, development, testing, startup, and customer acceptance.
- Troubleshoot electrical and mechanical systems during commissioning and support activities.
- Collaborate directly with customers, project teams, and stakeholders to deliver successful outcomes.
- Develop and maintain strong client relationships while supporting ongoing business growth.
- Mentor junior engineers and provide technical leadership on projects.
- Travel to customer sites for startup, commissioning, and support activities (25-40% travel).
What We're Looking For
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's Degree in Electrical, Mechanical, Computer Engineering, or related discipline.
- Minimum GPA of 3.4.
- 5+ years of industrial automation experience.
- Strong programming ability with PLCs and text-based programming languages.
- Experience with industrial automation systems including:
- PLCs
- Motion Control
- Process Control
- HMIs
- SCADA
- Robotics
- Machine Vision
- Experience working directly with customers in a project-based environment.
- Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
Compensation
- 3-5 Years Experience: $95,000 - $115,000
- 5-10+ Years Experience: $115,000 - $165,000+
