Building Automation Design Engineer
📍 Illinois (On-site / Hybrid options depending on location)
💰 Up to $130,000 base salary (depending on experience)
We're partnering with a well-established and growing building automation company that is continuing to win major projects across Illinois. They're looking to bring on a Building Automation Design Engineer who wants to work on technically challenging projects while being part of a team that genuinely values collaboration and long-term career growth.
What You'll Be Doing:
- Design and develop building automation and control system solutions for large commercial buildings, laboratories, and high-value projects
- Produce detailed system drawings, schematics, and submittals using Revit, AutoCAD, or Visio
- Work closely with project managers, programmers, and field teams to ensure designs are accurate, efficient, and deliverable
- Support system architecture design including controls layouts, network topology, and device selection
- Assist in reviewing specifications, project plans, and bid documents for multimillion-dollar projects
- Ensure designs meet project requirements, industry standards, and client expectations
What We're Looking For:
- 3+ years of experience in building automation / BAS / HVAC controls design
- Strong proficiency with Revit and/or Visio (AutoCAD also beneficial)
- Proven experience working on large commercial buildings, labs, or complex infrastructure projects
- Solid understanding of building automation systems, DDC controls, and system integration
- Ability to collaborate cross-functionally and communicate effectively with both technical and non-technical stakeholders
