About the Role
We are seeking a skilled Controls Engineer with strong Tridium Niagara expertise to join a highly experienced Building Automation team in Minnesota. This role offers the opportunity to work on multi-million-dollar commercial, healthcare, and mission-critical projects, while being surrounded by a team of 10-15 BAS professionals known for their deep technical knowledge and collaborative mindset.
This is an ideal opportunity for an engineer who enjoys technical problem-solving and system-level thinking today, but who also has ambitions to grow into Program Management or Operations leadership in the future.
What You'll Be Doing
- Engineer, program, and support Tridium Niagara-based Building Automation Systems
- Contribute to the delivery of large, complex, multi-million-dollar control projects
- Develop and review:
- Control strategies and sequences of operation
- System architecture and network designs
- Integration of third-party systems and devices
- Support commissioning, troubleshooting, and system optimization
- Work closely with project managers, technicians, and design engineers to ensure seamless execution
- Provide technical guidance and support to field teams when needed
- Participate in client meetings and support technical discussions as a subject-matter expert
- Travel up to 20% to project sites for key milestones and hands-on support
- Contribute to continuous improvement of engineering standards and best practices
What We're Looking For
Required Experience & Skills
- 3+ years of experience as a Controls Engineer or BAS Engineer
- Strong proficiency with Tridium Niagara (N4):
- System architecture & programming
- Integrations and networking
- Solid understanding of HVAC systems and control methodologies
- Experience working on large-scale commercial or mission-critical projects
- Ability to collaborate effectively within multi-disciplinary teams
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
Nice-to-Have (Not Required)
- Niagara certification(s)
- Experience supporting multi-site or enterprise-level BAS deployments
- Interest in leadership, program management, or operational roles
