Building Envelope Consultant
About the Role
Our client is seeking a Building Envelope Project Consultant to join their growing Dallas team. This position offers the opportunity to work on a wide range of building enclosure, restoration, and forensic consulting projects across commercial, multifamily, hospitality, healthcare, educational, and mixed-use properties.
The successful candidate will play a key role in investigating building performance issues, conducting field assessments, developing repair solutions, and managing projects from initial evaluation through construction completion. This role offers a balance of field work, technical consulting, client interaction, and project management responsibilities.
Key Responsibilities
- Perform building envelope assessments, condition surveys, and property evaluations.
- Investigate moisture intrusion, façade failures, roofing deficiencies, and other building enclosure issues.
- Conduct site inspections and field testing of roofing, waterproofing, wall, glazing, and cladding systems.
- Prepare detailed technical reports, drawings, specifications, and repair recommendations.
- Develop rehabilitation and restoration solutions for existing structures.
- Manage multiple projects, including scope, schedule, budget, and client communication.
- Provide construction administration, quality assurance, and observation services during repair projects.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with clients, contractors, property owners, and design professionals.
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to deliver high-quality consulting services.
Qualifications
Required
- 5+ years construction industry experience.
- Experience performing field inspections, condition assessments, and investigative work.
- Strong technical report writing and communication skills.
- Knowledge of building envelope systems, including:
- Roofing systems
- Waterproofing systems
- Exterior wall assemblies
- Windows and glazing systems
- Cladding and façade systems
- Ability to manage multiple projects and priorities in a fast-paced environment.
- Valid driver's license and willingness to travel to project sites as required.
Preferred
- 5+ years of project management experience.
- Experience within Building Envelope Consulting, Roofing Consulting, Restoration Consulting, Forensic Engineering, or a related field.
- Experience working on multifamily, commercial, institutional, or hospitality projects.
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Architecture, Construction Management, Building Science, or a related discipline.
- Professional certifications such as RRO, PE, RA, CDT, BECxP, or similar.
