Are you a seasoned Transportation Construction Inspector ready to take the next step into a leadership role?
We're partnering with a well-established engineering consulting firm that is actively growing its construction management and inspection team across Western Pennsylvania. This is an opportunity to lead inspection staff on major transportation infrastructure projects involving highways, bridges, roadway improvements, and municipal transportation programs.
If you have PennDOT experience, strong technical knowledge, and enjoy mentoring field teams while overseeing project delivery, this could be a great fit.
What You'll Be Doing
- Lead and supervise construction inspection teams on active transportation projects
- Oversee daily inspection activities, documentation, reporting, and quality assurance
- Ensure contractor compliance with plans, specifications, PennDOT requirements, and safety standards
- Review inspector reports, quantities, pay estimates, photographs, and project records
- Coordinate with contractors, engineers, project managers, and agency representatives
- Attend project meetings and provide construction oversight throughout project execution
- Monitor erosion control, stormwater BMPs, and environmental compliance measures
- Assist with project administration, progress payments, and contract documentation
What We're Looking For
- Previous experience as a Transportation Construction Inspector, Senior Inspector, or Construction Supervisor
- Strong understanding of PennDOT specifications, procedures, and QA/QC requirements
- Experience supervising or mentoring field inspection personnel
- Ability to manage documentation, quantities, and construction records
- Comfortable working on active roadway and bridge construction projects
- Strong communication and organizational skills
- Valid driver's license
Preferred Education
- Associate's Degree or Bachelor's Degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, or a related field
Desired Certifications
Candidates holding any combination of the following certifications are highly encouraged to apply:
- NICET Highway Construction Level II, III, or IV
- ACI Concrete Field Testing Technician Grade I
- PennDOT Concrete Certification
- NECEPT Concrete Field Testing Technician
- NECEPT Asphalt Field Technician
- PennDOT Guiderail Certification (preferred)
