Job Description:
We are seeking a City Engineer to support municipal clients with the planning, design, and delivery of public works infrastructure projects. This role provides direct interaction with city staff, elected officials, consultants, and community stakeholders while serving as a trusted technical resource for multiple municipalities.
Responsibilities:
- Manage municipal engineering and public works projects for city clients.
- Design and oversee roadway, utility, drainage, and capital improvement projects.
- Prepare and review engineering plans, specifications, cost estimates, and technical reports.
- Serve as a liaison between city staff, consultants, contractors, and regulatory agencies.
- Support Capital Improvement Program (CIP) planning, budgeting, and implementation.
- Attend and participate in city council meetings, public hearings, and stakeholder presentations.
- Coordinate project schedules, budgets, resources, and deliverables.
- Ensure projects meet applicable design standards, regulations, and client expectations.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering or a related field.
- California PE license preferred; experienced municipal engineers without licensure may also be considered.
- Experience with municipal engineering, public works, or public agency consulting.
- Strong knowledge of roadway, utility, drainage, and infrastructure project delivery.
- Ability to manage multiple projects and client relationships simultaneously.
- Excellent communication and presentation skills.
- Experience working directly with city staff and public agencies is highly desirable.
