The Role

The successful candidate will take ownership of civil engineering and land development projects from concept through completion. You'll work closely with clients, coordinate project teams, and play a key role in delivering high-quality engineering solutions.

Projects may include:

  • Commercial developments
  • Residential developments
  • Solar and renewable energy projects
  • Educational facilities
  • Park district improvements
  • Transportation and roadway projects
  • Stormwater and drainage infrastructure projects

Key responsibilities include:

  • Managing civil engineering projects and client relationships
  • Preparing and reviewing plans, specifications, and construction documents
  • Site design, grading, drainage, stormwater management, and utility design
  • Coordinating with internal teams and external stakeholders
  • Utilizing AutoCAD Civil 3D for design and plan development
  • Mentoring and supporting junior staff where applicable
  • Ensuring projects are delivered on time and within budget

Qualifications

Required

  • Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering
  • 5+ years of civil engineering experience
  • Experience within land development, site civil, or related civil infrastructure projects
  • Proficiency with AutoCAD Civil 3D
  • Strong communication and project coordination skills
  • Ability to manage projects with increasing levels of independence

Preferred

  • Professional Engineer (PE) license or progress toward licensure
  • EIT certification
  • Project management experience
  • Experience mentoring junior engineers
  • Construction observation and field experience
  • Stormwater design experience

Compensation

$95,000 - $120,000+

Compensation is flexible and will be tailored to the experience, project management capabilities, technical expertise, and leadership background of the successful candidate.
