Civil Project Engineer - Renewables
We are seeking a motivated Civil Engineer with who is interested in contributing to the development and execution of renewable energy projects. This position offers the opportunity to work on a variety of utility-scale renewable energy developments, including utility-scale solar projects across the East Coast.
The ideal candidate will have a strong civil engineering background, experience supporting energy or infrastructure projects, and a desire to be part of a growing organization helping accelerate the clean energy transition. We are seeking a candidate that will be excited to apply their skillsets to developing solar site layouts, etc.
*Opportunity to sit 100% remote will be considered.
Overview of responsibilities:
- Support the planning, design, and development of utility-scale solar projects.
- Prepare and review civil engineering designs, drawings, specifications, and technical reports.
- Perform site layout design, grading and drainage analysis, stormwater management, and erosion control design.
- Coordinate with multidisciplinary teams, including electrical, structural, environmental, and permitting professionals.
- Support project permitting, regulatory compliance, and agency coordination efforts.
- Assist with construction support activities, including responding to RFIs, reviewing submittals, and conducting site visits.
- Collaborate with project managers to maintain schedules, budgets, and project deliverables.
- Ensure designs comply with applicable local, state, and federal regulations, as well as industry standards and best practices.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering or related discipline.
- 4-5+ years of civil engineering experience within the infrastructure sector -- minimum 2-3 years working for an engineering consultancy, EPC firm, or developer preferred.
- Experience with site development, land development, grading, drainage, and stormwater design.
- Proficiency with AutoCAD Civil 3D and related engineering software.
- Familiarity with renewable energy projects such as solar, wind, battery storage, transmission, or substations is a huge plus.
- Strong communication, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to work effectively within multidisciplinary project teams.
