CMT Service Leader
About the Opportunity
We are seeking an experienced Construction Materials Testing (CMT) Service Line Leader to spearhead the development and growth of our CMT division in Florida. This is a strategic leadership role with a clear pathway to Director of Construction Services within 5 years.
You will play a pivotal role in:
- Building and leading the CMT service line, including staff development and operational excellence.
- Achieving laboratory accreditation and ensuring compliance with industry standards.
- Expanding FDOT-related services and positioning the company for prequalification in new areas.
- Supporting quality assurance, scheduling, and client satisfaction across diverse projects.
What You'll Do
- Lead efforts to accredit and manage the CMT laboratory.
- Oversee and mentor a team of approximately 5 technicians, with plans to grow.
- Collaborate with leadership to expand transportation and FDOT-related services.
- Support geotechnical services as the division scales.
- Ensure QA/QC standards and assist with scheduling for improved project delivery.
- Engage in both field and office work; flexibility to work remotely once systems are established.
Ideal Candidate
- Education: B.S. in Civil Engineering or related field.
- Licensure: Professional Engineer (P.E.) preferred; E.I. considered with strong leadership potential.
- Experience:
- 6-10 years in CMT, with proven experience in lab accreditation and leadership.
- Transportation/FDOT experience highly desirable.
- Exposure to geotechnical work is a plus.
- Skills: Strong organizational and management abilities, ability to prioritize and lead teams effectively.
