Geotechnical Engineer - Houston, TX
We are seeking a skilled and motivated Geotechnical Engineer with at least five years of professional experience to join our dynamic team. This is an exciting opportunity to work on a diverse range of infrastructure, commercial, and residential projects, contributing your expertise to ground investigations, foundation design, and geotechnical risk assessments.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead and manage geotechnical investigations and site assessments.
- Interpret soil, rock, and groundwater data to inform design decisions.
- Design foundations, retaining structures, earthworks, and slope stability solutions.
- Prepare technical reports, risk assessments, and design documentation.
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams including civil, structural, and environmental engineers.
- Provide technical guidance and mentorship to junior engineers.
- Ensure compliance with relevant codes, standards, and health & safety regulations.
Requirements:
- BSc or MSc in Geotechnical Engineering, Civil Engineering, or related field.
- Minimum 5 years of relevant experience in geotechnical engineering.
- Strong understanding of soil mechanics, foundation design, and ground improvement techniques.
- Proficiency in geotechnical software (e.g., PLAXIS, GeoStudio, gINT, etc.).
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Chartered or working towards chartership (ICE, GeolSoc, or equivalent) is a plus.
