Summary
Responsible for overseeing all field operations at the project jobsite. Manages scheduling, coordination, and supervision of subcontractors and trade employees. Actively engaged in Corporate Safety and Quality programs.


Assigned Responsibilities

  • Identifies existing or potential health risks and enforces measures to prevent or eliminate hazards.
  • Implements, enforces, and maintains corporate Safety, Quality, and Production programs.
  • Provides direct supervision of daily activities at the project site.
  • Develops site-specific safety plans and monitors compliance to ensure project safety.
  • Ensures adherence to the company's quality program throughout the project.
  • Plans and supervises Area/Trade Superintendents and Assistant Superintendents for self-performed work.
  • Determines construction methods, manpower requirements, materials, and equipment for self-performed tasks.
  • Coordinates assigned work with trades, subcontractors, and other on-site contractors.
  • Assists in resolving construction issues such as work interferences, trade productivity, and document interpretation.
  • Conducts on-site meetings with subcontractors, owners, and tradespeople.
  • Maintains discipline on the jobsite.
  • Coordinates material deliveries and ensures proper sequencing of work.
  • Builds and maintains positive relationships with Owners, Subcontractors, and Designers.
  • Acts as liaison with both the owner occupant and owner representative.
  • Maintains project documentation including JHAs, QC checklists, daily reports, material quantities, production logs, and jobsite photos.
  • Manages progress photos using Site Spec or other photo management tools.
  • Monitors subcontractor progress.
  • Collaborates in the development of CPM schedules.
  • Prepares look-ahead schedules and aligns work with project completion goals.
  • Produces and submits RFIs.
  • Oversees subcontractor activities.
  • Maintains as-built drawings.
  • Identifies and documents potential change orders and back charges.
  • Manages As-Built and RFI documentation using Plan Grid or Blue Beam software.
  • Verifies material and equipment deliveries.
  • Understands and manages equipment needs, capabilities, and logistics.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.

Authority

  • Authorized to dismiss FHP field trade personnel.
  • Reports to and/or collaborates with the Project Manager/General Superintendent.
  • Works alongside Project Engineers.
  • Manages Trade Superintendents and Assistant Superintendents.
  • Holds authority to stop work when necessary.

Requirements

Job Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

  • Advanced knowledge of production methods, construction processes, and team/project supervision.
  • Strong organizational and leadership capabilities.
  • Effective communication, interpersonal, supervisory, and planning skills.
  • Proficient in MS Office (Outlook, Excel, Word).
  • Skilled in using mobile devices such as smartphones and tablets.

Education and Training

  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering or Construction Management, or equivalent technical training and/or construction experience.
  • Minimum of two years of diverse supervisory experience.

Technical Skills

  • Proven ability to manage effectively.
  • Advanced understanding of construction scheduling and cost control.
  • Capable of supervising large and diverse teams.
  • Familiarity with company policies and procedures.
  • OSHA 30 certification required.
