Concrete Restoration Structural Engineer - Tampa
Our client, a specialist in the engineering, repair, restoration, and maintenance of parking structures, is seeking a skilled Structural Engineer to join their Tampa team. This role is ideal for someone who enjoys fieldwork, solving complex structural challenges, and delivering clear, technically sound evaluations of existing structures.
About the Role
You will survey and evaluate existing structures, prepare detailed inspection reports, and communicate findings and follow‑up plans with internal team members. You'll engineer structural repairs, review calculations, drawings, and construction documents, research building codes, and provide technical guidance where needed. You will stay up to date through ongoing seminars and training and may help mentor new Structural Engineers.
Key Responsibilities
- Survey and evaluate existing structures for maintenance and repair needs.
- Prepare and issue inspection reports for internal and customer use.
- Communicate assessment results and follow‑up plans with the Territory Manager.
- Engineer structural repairs within the assigned territory.
- Review calculations, structural drawings, construction documents, and related technical questions.
- Research relevant building codes and specifications as needed.
- Provide technical advice and guidance to project personnel and subcontractors.
- Attend technical seminars and training to maintain subject‑matter expertise.
- Assist with training and mentoring new Structural Engineers.
Required Expertise
- Bachelor's or Master's degree in Civil or Structural Engineering; P.E. preferred.
- 5-10 years of experience in concrete construction, repair, restoration, or forensic investigation.
- Working knowledge of AutoCAD, Bluebeam, Google applications, and MS Office.
- Strong analytical and problem‑solving skills with excellent verbal and written communication.
- Ability to work independently or collaboratively in a fast‑paced environment.
