A well-established heavy civil and water/wastewater contractor is seeking an experienced Construction Superintendent to oversee municipal and industrial water infrastructure projects throughout the Tampa Bay area. The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience managing field operations for water and wastewater treatment plants, pump stations, lift stations, force mains, and underground utility projects while maintaining a strong focus on safety, quality, production, and client satisfaction.
Responsibilities
- Lead daily field operations on water and wastewater construction projects.
- Coordinate and supervise subcontractors, craft personnel, and self-perform crews.
- Develop and maintain project schedules, work plans, and short-interval look-ahead schedules.
- Ensure projects are executed safely, on schedule, and within budget.
- Manage quality control processes and ensure compliance with project specifications and contract documents.
- Coordinate inspections, testing, and interactions with owners, engineers, and regulatory agencies.
- Review plans, specifications, and construction drawings to identify potential issues before they impact production.
- Track labor, equipment, and material productivity.
- Conduct daily safety meetings and enforce company safety standards.
Qualifications
- 5+ years of Superintendent experience on heavy civil or utility construction projects.
- Strong background in water/wastewater treatment plant construction, pump stations, lift stations, force mains, or underground utilities.
- Ability to manage multiple crews and subcontractors in an active construction environment.
- Experience reading construction plans, specifications, and schedules.
- Knowledge of OSHA regulations and construction safety best practices.
- Strong leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills.
- Proficiency with construction management software is a plus.
