Controls Engineer - Citect SCADA (Secret Clearance Eligible)

Clearance Required: Must be eligible for a U.S. Secret Security Clearance (active clearance preferred)
Position Overview:
Our client is seeking a highly skilled and motivated Controls Engineer with hands-on experience in Citect SCADA systems to join our dynamic engineering team in Northern Virginia. This role involves designing, developing, and maintaining industrial control systems for mission-critical infrastructure and defense-related projects. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in automation, SCADA integration, and be either eligible for or already possess a Secret-level security clearance.
Key Responsibilities:
- Design, program, and implement Citect SCADA systems for industrial automation and control applications.
- Develop and maintain PLC logic and HMI interfaces.
- Integrate SCADA systems with field devices, sensors, and control networks.
- Perform system testing, troubleshooting, and commissioning at client sites.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams including electrical, mechanical, and software engineers.
- Prepare technical documentation including system architecture, wiring diagrams, and user manuals.
- Ensure compliance with cybersecurity and government standards for control systems.
- Support system upgrades, maintenance, and lifecycle management.
Required Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Control Systems, Automation, or related field.
- 3+ years of experience in industrial automation and control systems.
- Proficiency in Citect SCADA development and deployment.
- Experience with PLC programming (e.g., Allen-Bradley, Siemens, Schneider Electric).
- Strong understanding of industrial communication protocols (Modbus, OPC, Ethernet/IP).
- U.S. Citizenship required.
- Must be eligible for a U.S. Secret Security Clearance (active clearance is a plus).
