Controls Operations Manager
Job Summary:
We are seeking a strategic and experienced Operations Manager to lead our Building Automation division in Alabama. This role is responsible for overseeing day-to-day operations, managing project delivery, optimizing team performance, and ensuring customer satisfaction across all building automation projects. The ideal candidate will bring strong leadership, technical expertise in BAS systems, and a passion for operational excellence.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead and manage the operations team including project managers, technicians, and engineers.
- Oversee the execution of building automation projects from planning through commissioning.
- Ensure projects are delivered on time, within budget, and to quality standards.
- Develop and implement operational processes to improve efficiency and scalability.
- Collaborate with sales, engineering, and service teams to align on project scope and execution.
- Monitor KPIs and financial performance, including revenue forecasting and cost control.
- Maintain strong relationships with clients, vendors, and subcontractors.
- Ensure compliance with safety standards, codes, and regulations.
- Recruit, train, and mentor staff to build a high-performing team.
Qualifications:
- 5+ years of experience in building automation, HVAC controls, or related field.
- 3+ years in an operations or project management leadership role.
- Strong understanding of BAS technologies (e.g., BACnet, Modbus, LonWorks).
- Proven ability to manage multiple projects and teams simultaneously.
- Excellent communication, leadership, and organizational skills.
- Proficiency in project management tools and Microsoft Office Suite.
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Construction Management, or related field preferred.
Preferred Skills:
- Experience with platforms such as Siemens, Johnson Controls, Honeywell, or Trane.
- Familiarity with energy management systems and smart building technologies.
- PMP or similar project management certification.
- Knowledge of Alabama building codes and regulations.
