About the Opportunity
Our client is seeking a licensed Professional Engineer (PE) to join their growing Roadway team in Dallas. This individual will play a key role in the planning, design, and delivery of roadway and transportation projects across Texas while collaborating with project managers, technical leaders, and clients.
This is an excellent opportunity for an engineer looking to take ownership of projects, mentor junior staff, and work on impactful transportation infrastructure programs for TxDOT, municipalities, counties, and local agencies.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop roadway design plans for transportation infrastructure projects.
- Prepare PS&E packages, technical reports, specifications, and cost estimates.
- Perform roadway geometric design using OpenRoads Designer, MicroStation, and related software.
- Coordinate with drainage, traffic, utility, and structural teams throughout project delivery.
- Support project management activities, including schedules, budgets, and client communication.
- Conduct quality control reviews and ensure compliance with TxDOT and local agency standards.
- Attend client meetings and assist with project development efforts.
- Mentor and provide technical guidance to junior engineering staff.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering.
- Texas Professional Engineer (PE) license required.
- 5+ years of roadway design experience.
- Strong understanding of TxDOT design criteria, standards, and project delivery processes.
- Experience preparing PS&E packages for transportation projects.
- Proficiency with OpenRoads Designer and MicroStation.
- Strong communication and client-facing skills.
Preferred Experience
- Experience working on TxDOT, municipal, county, or roadway infrastructure projects.
- Corridor, freeway, intersection, and roadway widening project experience.
- Exposure to project management responsibilities.
- Experience coordinating multidisciplinary engineering teams.
- Existing relationships with TxDOT districts or local agencies is a plus.
