About the Opportunity
Our client is seeking a licensed Professional Engineer (PE) to join their growing Transportation team in Houston. This position offers the opportunity to work on a variety of roadway, highway, corridor, and mobility projects throughout Texas while collaborating with industry-leading engineers and project managers.
The ideal candidate will have experience delivering roadway designs for TxDOT, municipal, county, and other transportation infrastructure projects and be looking to take the next step in their career with a dynamic and growing team.
Key Responsibilities
- Prepare roadway design plans, layouts, and engineering calculations for transportation projects.
- Develop PS&E packages in accordance with TxDOT and local agency standards.
- Perform roadway geometric design using OpenRoads Designer, MicroStation, and related design software.
- Coordinate with drainage, traffic, utilities, and structural disciplines throughout project development.
- Assist with project schedules, budgets, and technical deliverables.
- Support client interactions and participate in project meetings.
- Conduct quality control reviews and ensure compliance with applicable standards.
- Mentor junior engineers and EITs.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering.
- Texas Professional Engineer (PE) license required.
- 4-10+ years of roadway design experience.
- Experience with TxDOT transportation projects.
- Proficiency with OpenRoads Designer and MicroStation.
- Strong understanding of roadway geometrics, PS&E development, and transportation design standards.
- Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
Preferred Experience
- TxDOT roadway, freeway, corridor, interchange, or widening projects.
- Municipal transportation and roadway improvement projects.
- Experience coordinating multidisciplinary project teams.
- Project management or task lead experience.
- Existing relationships with TxDOT districts, local agencies, or municipalities is a plus.
