About the Role
We are seeking a Design Engineer to join our team in Austin, TX, specializing in Building Automation Systems (BAS). The ideal candidate will be responsible for creating detailed system designs, preparing submittals, and ensuring compliance with project specifications. This role requires strong technical skills, attention to detail, and proficiency in Microsoft Visio for schematic and layout drawings.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop detailed design drawings and documentation for building automation systems using Visio.
- Prepare and review submittals for BAS projects, ensuring accuracy and adherence to specifications.
- Collaborate with project managers, engineers, and contractors to deliver high-quality designs on schedule.
- Interpret mechanical, electrical, and architectural plans to integrate automation solutions.
- Maintain compliance with industry standards, codes, and client requirements.
- Provide technical support during installation and commissioning phases.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or related field (or equivalent experience).
- 3+ years of experience in building automation design or similar role.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Visio for creating system diagrams and layouts.
- Strong understanding of submittal preparation and documentation processes.
- Familiarity with HVAC systems, controls, and integration principles.
- Excellent communication and organizational skills.
