Building Automation Technician (BAS) - Field Service & Startup

Join a growing BAS team delivering reliable, high‑performing building controls across commercial, healthcare, life‑science, and mission‑critical facilities. You'll be the go‑to field expert for startup, commissioning, and service-working hands‑on with Tridium, Distech, and other DDC platforms to keep systems safe, efficient, and compliant.
What you'll do
- Perform startup & commissioning: device checkout, point‑to‑point, FPTs, sequence validation, and customer training.
- Execute service & troubleshooting on controllers, sensors, actuators, VFDs, and networks; resolve alarms and performance issues.
- Configure/adjust DDC applications (setpoints, schedules, logic tweaks), graphics, alarms, and trends on Tridium Niagara N4, Distech, and other OEMs (e.g., Delta, Alerton, Johnson/FX, ALC WebCTRL, Schneider, Siemens).
- Integrate via BACnet/IP & MSTP, Modbus TCP/RTU; assist with gateways, naming/tagging standards, and database hygiene.
- Interpret MEP drawings/sequences, update redlines/as‑builts, and close out punch lists.
- Collaborate with PMs and engineers; maintain clear service notes, timesheets, and parts usage.
- Support on‑call rotation and occasional after‑hours cutovers (paid at 2x overtime).
What you'll bring
- 3-8+ years as a BAS field tech, startup/commissioning, or service technician.
- Hands‑on with Tridium Niagara and/or Distech; comfortable with at least one additional DDC line.
- Strong fundamentals: controls wiring, sensor calibration, airflow/water balance basics, PID/loop tuning, and sequence intent.
- Familiar with IP fundamentals, VLANs, serial buses, and using BACnet explorers/diagnostic tools.
- Proficient with laptop tools (Workbench/EC‑Net), smartphone apps, and Bluebeam/AutoCAD for markups.
- Safety‑first mindset, clean documentation, and professional client communication.
Nice‑to‑haves: Factory certifications (Niagara N4, Distech), EPA 608, OSHA‑10/30, experience in hospitals or data centers, and light programming/graphics edits.
