Design Integration Manager

The ideal candidate will have a proven track record of leading multidisciplinary teams and collaborating across departments to drive successful project outcomes.
Position Summary
The Design Integration Manager (Enclosures) plays a pivotal role in leading the design process for building enclosure systems across a variety of project delivery methods, including design-build, EPC, and CM-at-risk. This individual collaborates closely with project development, estimating, operations, and support teams throughout all project phases from pursuit and pre-construction through commissioning and close out. The goal is to ensure that enclosure designs deliver maximum value to clients while adhering to scope, budget, and schedule.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead the design process for enclosure scopes on major building projects.
- Coordinate with owners, designers, estimators, and construction teams to define design scope and delivery sequencing.
- Establish and manage design schedules, communication protocols, and accountability frameworks.
- Facilitate regular design and OAC (Owner/Architect/Contractor) meetings.
- Maintain change management logs and ensure alignment with cost and schedule impacts.
- Drive value engineering and manage constructability reviews to mitigate risk.
- Ensure compliance with RFP requirements and validate programmatic needs.
- Collaborate with estimating to manage cost trends and adjust designs accordingly.
- Support trade partner selection and bid review processes.
- Work with VDC teams to implement project-specific BIM strategies.
- Manage design changes and issue resolution during construction and close-out.
- Contribute to the development of design integration tools and best practices.
- Serve as a subject matter expert in enclosure systems and support peer reviews.
- Participate in project pursuits and client presentations.
- Evaluate and negotiate contracts with design consultants on DB and EPC projects.
Qualifications
Required:
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Architecture, Construction Management, or related field.
- Minimum 10 years of experience in architectural or engineering design, including 5 years in enclosure systems and project management.
- Experience with design-build project delivery.
Preferred:
- Professional licensure (PA, RA, AIA, and/or NCARB).
- LEED AP or LEED BD+C certification.
- Strong knowledge of BIM/VDC processes and tools.
- Excellent communication, leadership, and organizational skills.
