A leading commercial solar energy provider is seeking a dynamic and experienced Director of Sales to lead its national commercial solar sales division. This senior leadership role is ideal for a strategic thinker with a strong background in B2B sales, preferably within the renewable energy sector. The successful candidate will drive revenue growth, expand market share, and lead a high-performing sales team using cutting-edge tools, including AI-powered platforms.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Sales Strategy & Execution: Develop and implement data-driven sales strategies to meet ambitious revenue and market expansion goals.
  • Team Leadership: Build, mentor, and manage a high-performing sales team. Foster a culture of excellence, innovation, and accountability.
  • Market Expansion: Identify and pursue new market opportunities using AI-driven insights and market intelligence.
  • Sales Process Optimization: Refine lead generation, proposal development, and deal closure processes. Champion CRM and AI-powered sales tools.
  • Client Engagement: Cultivate strong relationships with commercial clients and partners. Tailor solutions to meet unique energy needs.
  • Financial Expertise: Oversee proposal development and communicate complex solar financing options (PPAs, leases, ownership models).
  • Forecasting & Reporting: Manage sales pipelines and forecasts using CRM platforms and AI-enhanced analytics.
  • Industry Knowledge: Stay current on solar trends, incentives, and regulatory changes. Leverage competitive intelligence tools.
  • Cross-Functional Collaboration: Work closely with marketing, engineering, operations, and finance to ensure seamless project delivery.
  • Networking & Representation: Represent the company at industry events and conferences to enhance brand visibility and generate leads.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Business, Marketing, Engineering, or related field; MBA preferred.
  • 7-10 years of progressive B2B sales experience, including 3-5 years in a senior leadership role.
  • Proven success in exceeding sales targets in commercial solar or related industries.
  • Strong understanding of solar project development and financing mechanisms.
  • Experience with AI-powered sales tools, CRM platforms (e.g., Salesforce), and data analytics.
  • Exceptional leadership, communication, and negotiation skills.
  • Willingness to travel as needed.
