- Leading, mentoring, and managing a team of electrical engineers and designers
- Overseeing the design of power distribution, lighting, fire alarm, and low-voltage systems
- Managing project schedules, budgets, resources, and deliverables
- Ensuring compliance with NEC, NFPA, IEEE, and applicable industry standards
- Collaborating with multidisciplinary engineering teams on complex projects
- Serving as the primary technical point of contact for clients
- Supporting business development efforts, proposals, presentations, and strategic initiatives
The Director of Electrical Engineering should have the following qualifications:
- Bachelor's or Master's degree in Electrical Engineering from an ABET-accredited institution
- Professional Engineer (PE) license required
- 15+ years of electrical engineering experience, including 4+ years in a leadership or management role
- Experience with transportation, transit, roadway, or institutional facility projects
- Proficiency with Revit, AutoCAD, AGi32, MicroStation, or similar design tools
- Strong knowledge of NEC, NFPA, IEEE, and related industry standards
- Excellent leadership, communication, and project management skills
- Experience working with agencies such as CTA, Metra, IDOT, CDOT, or Illinois Tollway is highly desirable
