Director of Electrical Engineering-Data Centers

Shape the Future of Mission-Critical Infrastructure

An industry-leading data center owner and operator is seeking a Director of Electrical Engineering & Design to lead the strategy, design, and execution of cutting-edge electrical infrastructure supporting some of the most critical digital environments in the world.

This is a rare opportunity to join a highly respected organization at the forefront of data center innovation, driving electrical design standards, capacity planning, and infrastructure modernization across a growing portfolio of mission-critical facilities. The successful candidate will play a key leadership role in supporting next-generation technologies, including high-density and liquid-cooled AI and GPU deployments.

If you're passionate about electrical systems, technical leadership, and building resilient infrastructure that powers the digital economy, we'd love to hear from you.

What You'll Do

  • Lead electrical engineering and design initiatives for new construction, expansions, and infrastructure upgrades within mission-critical facilities.
  • Provide technical leadership and strategic direction while ensuring designs meet the highest standards for reliability, safety, performance, and scalability.
  • Partner cross-functionally with construction, operations, mechanical engineering, controls, commissioning, and supply chain teams to successfully deliver projects.
  • Oversee electrical capacity planning, load analysis, short-circuit and coordination studies, UPS strategies, and emergency power system design.
  • Drive infrastructure solutions that support high-density computing environments, including AI and liquid-cooled GPU deployments.
  • Manage relationships with external engineering consultants, architects, contractors, and equipment vendors.
  • Review electrical equipment sizing, design packages, technical submittals, and construction documentation.
  • Support customer deployments and power infrastructure requirements within data center environments.
  • Provide technical guidance during design, construction, commissioning, and project closeout phases.
  • Assist with maintenance planning, operational procedures, and management of change (MOC/MOP) reviews.
  • Develop departmental budgets, forecast future infrastructure needs, and support long-term capital planning initiatives.
  • Mentor and develop engineering talent while fostering a culture of innovation, accountability, and continuous improvement.

What We're Looking For

  • Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering.
  • Professional Engineer (PE) license required.
  • 10+ years of experience designing mission-critical electrical systems, ideally within data centers, colocation facilities, hyperscale, or other critical environments.
  • Demonstrated experience leading engineering teams and managing multidisciplinary project stakeholders.
  • Deep understanding of medium- and low-voltage power distribution systems, UPS systems, generators, grounding, switchgear, PDUs, and critical power infrastructure.
  • Experience supporting high-density computing environments, including AI, HPC, and liquid-cooled technologies.
  • Strong knowledge of electrical studies, capacity planning, and reliability-focused design practices.
  • Proven ability to manage consultants, contractors, vendors, and complex project portfolios.
  • Strong business acumen with experience in budgeting, forecasting, and project management.
  • Excellent leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills.

Why This Opportunity?

  • Join a recognized leader in the mission-critical and data center industry.
  • Directly influence the future of AI-ready, high-density infrastructure.
  • Work alongside a highly technical and collaborative leadership team.
  • Drive major capital projects with significant visibility and impact.
  • Opportunity to shape engineering standards and long-term infrastructure strategy.
  • Competitive compensation, benefits, and long-term career growth.
