A leading company is seeking a Manager or Director of Engineering to provide technical leadership across the development and execution of large-scale power generation projects. The organization develops, owns, and operates critical energy infrastructure supporting utilities, industrial customers, data centers, and other high-growth power users.

This is an opportunity to play a key role in advancing next-generation energy solutions, including combined-cycle generation, peaking facilities, battery energy storage, and behind-the-meter power systems supporting rapidly growing energy demand.

Responsibilities

  • Lead engineering activities throughout the project lifecycle, from early-stage development and feasibility studies through detailed design, procurement, construction, and commissioning.
  • Oversee conceptual and detailed design efforts across mechanical, electrical, controls, civil, and process engineering disciplines.
  • Manage technical evaluation, selection, and specification of major power generation equipment, including gas turbines, HRSGs, generators, and balance-of-plant systems.
  • Serve as the primary technical lead for EPC contractors, OEMs, consultants, and engineering partners.
  • Review engineering deliverables, resolve technical issues, and ensure compliance with project requirements, industry standards, and applicable codes.
  • Support procurement activities, contract reviews, vendor negotiations, and performance guarantee evaluations.
  • Provide technical guidance during construction, startup, and commissioning activities to ensure safe and successful project execution.
  • Lead, mentor, and develop multidisciplinary engineering teams while promoting technical excellence and continuous improvement.
  • Contribute to project development efforts, technology assessments, cost estimates, and strategic engineering initiatives.

Qualifications

Required

  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering (Mechanical, Electrical, Civil, or related discipline).
  • 10+ years of experience in power generation engineering, power plant development, and EPC project execution.
  • Experience leading multidisciplinary engineering teams and managing complex infrastructure projects.
  • Strong knowledge of gas turbine power generation, combined-cycle facilities, and balance-of-plant systems.
  • Demonstrated experience managing EPC contractors, engineering consultants, and equipment suppliers.

Preferred: Professional Engineer (PE) license.
