About the Role

We are seeking a skilled and detail‑oriented Electrical Design Engineer to join our team in Hopedale, MA. This fully on‑site role is dedicated exclusively to electrical design-perfect for an engineer who enjoys taking projects from initial concept through final documentation, without involvement in programming.


Key Responsibilities

  • Design electrical systems and layouts using AutoCAD Electrical.
  • Specify and design systems utilizing Allen Bradley PLCs and HMIs.
  • Produce detailed schematics, wiring diagrams, and panel layouts.
  • Develop electrical designs from scratch and manage the entire design lifecycle.
  • Select and specify electrical components (circuit breakers, relays, contactors, motor starters, etc.).
  • Design control panels and ensure proper integration with field devices.
  • Collaborate with project managers and engineering teams to ensure design accuracy and project alignment.
  • Ensure compliance with industry standards and client specifications.
  • Provide technical support during the design phase and assist with documentation.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or a related field.
  • Minimum 5 years of electrical design engineering experience, preferably within industrial automation.
  • Proficiency with AutoCAD Electrical and related design tools.
  • Strong understanding of PLC/HMI systems, especially Allen Bradley.
  • Familiarity with NFPA 70 (NEC), UL508A, and other applicable electrical codes.
  • Experience developing BOMs and technical documentation.
  • Ability to work independently and manage design tasks end‑to‑end.
  • Excellent attention to detail, problem‑solving, and communication skills.

Preferred Skills

  • Experience specifying control components and systems.
  • Knowledge of electrical safety standards and best practices.
  • Familiarity with industrial communication protocols (Ethernet/IP, Modbus, etc.).
  • Experience with power distribution and performing load calculations.
  • Strong ability to interpret and produce technical drawings and documentation.
