Job Summary:
My client is seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Electrical Designer with 5-10 years of experience in the MEP industry, specifically focused on industrial projects such as manufacturing plants, warehouses, and processing facilities. The ideal candidate will be responsible for designing, drafting, and coordinating electrical systems in compliance with applicable codes and standards.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop detailed electrical design drawings and specifications for industrial MEP projects.
- Design power distribution, lighting, grounding, and low-voltage systems.
- Coordinate with mechanical and plumbing teams to ensure integrated MEP solutions.
- Perform load calculations, short circuit analysis, and voltage drop calculations.
- Select and specify electrical equipment and components.
- Review and interpret project specifications, drawings, and client requirements.
- Collaborate with architects, engineers, and contractors throughout the project lifecycle.
- Conduct site visits and field inspections to verify design implementation.
- Ensure compliance with NEC, NFPA, IEEE, and other relevant codes and standards.
- Assist in preparing cost estimates, schedules, and technical reports.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or related field (preferred).
- 5-10 years of experience in electrical design within the MEP industry.
- Proven experience with industrial projects
- Proficiency in AutoCAD, Revit, and electrical design software (e.g., ETAP, SKM).
- Strong knowledge of electrical codes and standards (NEC, NFPA, etc.).
- Excellent communication and coordination skills.
- PE license or EIT certification is a plus.
