Electrical Distribution Dept Manager
An established, employee-owned engineering firm headquartered in Chicago is seeking an Electrical Distribution Department Manager to lead its growing utility distribution team. The firm is recognized for its collaborative culture, long-standing relationships with utility clients, and multidisciplinary expertise in electrical, civil, and structural engineering. The Utilities division supports electric and gas utilities nationwide, as well as renewable energy projects, data centers, and large industrial facilities.
Responsibilities
- Lead a team of distribution engineers (4kV-34kV)
- Oversee staffing, project delivery, and performance
- Manage department budgets, quality, and billability
- Support proposals and lead key utility projects
- Mentor staff and support technical development
Qualifications
- PE license and B.S. in Electrical Engineering preferred
- 20+ years in utility distribution (overhead/underground)
- Experience with IOUs, developers, or campus systems
- Strong leadership, client, and proposal experience
- MSEE, MBA, or PMP preferred
