Position Summary

The Electrical Engineer III will join a Mission Critical team focused primarily on hyperscale data centers and other critical facilities. This position offers the opportunity to work closely with senior engineering and project management professionals while contributing to all phases of project delivery, including design, documentation, and construction administration.

The successful candidate will perform advanced electrical engineering tasks, support project leadership on complex assignments, and serve as a technical resource for clients and project teams. This role is well suited for an engineer looking to further develop their expertise in mission-critical facility design while working in a fully remote environment.

Key Responsibilities

Electrical Design & Engineering

  • Perform intermediate to advanced electrical engineering and design tasks for mission-critical facilities and hyperscale data centers.
  • Develop electrical calculations, analyses, and technical documentation.
  • Design electrical systems including power distribution, lighting, controls, grounding, and life safety systems.
  • Utilize AutoCAD and Revit to prepare project drawings and models.
  • Develop and review sequences of operation and project specifications.
  • Support senior engineers with complex technical challenges and project execution.

Project Development

  • Conduct site assessments and document existing facility conditions.
  • Gather project data and prepare technical reports.
  • Assist in the development of construction documents and design deliverables.
  • Coordinate with multidisciplinary teams throughout the design process.

Construction Administration

  • Work closely with project managers, owners, contractors, and consultants.
  • Review shop drawings and equipment submittals.
  • Review and respond to RFIs.
  • Participate in punch list activities and project closeout efforts.
  • Provide technical guidance during construction and commissioning activities.

Project Coordination & Reporting

  • Prepare project status updates and technical reports.
  • Maintain project documentation, including submittal and RFI logs.
  • Manage project workloads and deliverables to meet deadlines.
  • Serve as a point of contact for technical discussions with clients and stakeholders.

Qualifications

Required

  • Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering from an ABET-accredited institution.
  • Minimum of 5 years of electrical engineering experience.
  • Experience designing building electrical systems, including:
    • Single-phase and three-phase power distribution
    • Lighting and lighting controls
    • Grounding systems
    • Life safety systems
  • Working knowledge of the National Electrical Code (NEC), Life Safety Code, and applicable energy codes.
  • Experience performing:
    • Short circuit studies
    • Coordination studies
    • Arc flash analyses
    • Equipment sizing calculations
    • Feeder and lighting calculations
  • Proficiency with AutoCAD, Revit, and Microsoft Office applications.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.

  • Experience with mission-critical or data center projects.
  • Ability to work independently in a fully remote environment.
  • Experience interacting directly with clients and project stakeholders.
  • Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities simultaneously.
  • Ability to leverage emerging technologies and AI tools to improve workflows and project efficiency.
