About the Role

We are seeking an experienced Environmental Project Manager to lead projects in New York from our Bohemia, NY office. This position offers opportunities for professional growth within a dynamic team serving a diverse private-sector clientele. The role involves managing projects across all stages of brownfield assessment, investigation, remediation, and redevelopment.


Key Responsibilities

  • Manage environmental projects with varied local, state (NY/NJ/CT), and federal regulatory drivers (City VCP, State Brownfields, RCRA, Superfund).
  • Plan and direct environmental field observation and testing programs, including laboratory test selection and data evaluation.
  • Supervise staff to deliver project requirements: cost estimating, scheduling, report preparation, technical memorandums, and proposals/contracts.
  • Build and maintain strong client relationships while understanding client needs.
  • Oversee financial and technical aspects of projects to ensure quality and compliance.
  • Review and draft technical reports and letters aligned with client and regulatory objectives.
  • Evaluate subsurface characteristics for soil, soil vapor, and groundwater investigations and remediation.
  • Assign and manage work effectively across project teams.

Qualifications

  • Minimum 8 years of experience in environmental consulting, engineering, geology, or environmental science in New York.
  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in geology, environmental engineering, environmental science, or related field.
  • OSHA 40-hour HAZWOPER and/or OSHA 10/30-hour Construction Safety certifications preferred.
  • Strong computer literacy; experience with Surfer, MODFLOW, AutoCAD, GIS a plus.
  • Professional certifications (CHMM, PG, PE) preferred.
  • Excellent communication, technical writing, organizational, and client service skills.
  • Willingness to work from Suffolk County office and travel into NYC.
  • Ability to pass drug test, physical, background check, and maintain a satisfactory driving record.
  • Business development experience is a plus.
