Location: Queens/Brooklyn, NY
We are seeking a highly experienced Environmental Consulting Executive to lead and grow our environmental operations in New York State. This role demands a strategic leader with deep expertise in managing complex environmental projects, particularly within the NYS Brownfield Cleanup Program (BCP) and the NYC Office of Environmental Remediation (OER). The successful candidate will bring a strong technical background, proven leadership capabilities, and a commitment to regulatory excellence.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide strategic direction and executive oversight for environmental consulting initiatives.
- Lead and inspire multidisciplinary teams of engineers, geologists, and project managers.
- Oversee the full lifecycle of NYS BCP and NYC OER projects-from planning through regulatory closure.
- Cultivate and maintain strong client relationships while identifying and securing new business opportunities.
- Ensure full compliance with NYSDEC, NYC OER, and other relevant regulatory bodies.
- Review and approve technical documents including environmental assessments, investigations, and remedial action plans.
- Manage project budgets, timelines, and resource allocation for large-scale environmental efforts.
- Represent the firm in high-level client engagements, negotiations, and public forums.
Qualifications
- Active Professional Engineer (PE) or Professional Geologist (PG) license (New York State preferred).
- Bachelor's degree in Environmental Engineering, Geology, or a related discipline (Master's degree preferred).
- Minimum of 10 years of progressive experience in environmental consulting, with at least 5 years in a senior leadership role.
- Demonstrated expertise in NYS BCP and NYC OER regulatory frameworks.
- Proven success in team leadership, business development, and project execution.
- Comprehensive knowledge of environmental regulations, risk assessment, remedial design, and site closure strategies.
- Exceptional communication, negotiation, and client management skills.
