Job Summary
We are seeking a skilled Field Service Technician with expertise in servicing and troubleshooting cooling towers, boiler systems, and related water treatment technologies. This role requires strong mechanical, electrical, and process control knowledge, along with the ability to manage multiple customer sites and projects. Responsibilities include diagnosing and resolving issues related to system performance, controls, and infrastructure. Frequent travel within the Southwest region is required, with preference given to candidates residing in the area.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead troubleshooting and maintenance of cooling towers and boiler systems.
- Perform diagnostics on PLC, SCADA, and HMI systems.
- Analyze technical issues and implement corrective actions.
- Train and mentor junior and mid-level technicians.
- Develop technical documentation and maintenance plans.
- Coordinate field service operations across multiple sites.
- Collaborate with engineering teams to enhance system performance.
- Travel 50-90% to customer sites; up to 25% home/office work.
Qualifications
- Associate's degree or equivalent technical certifications and experience.
- 5+ years in water treatment, HVAC, field service, or plant engineering.
- Expertise in cooling tower and boiler system operation and maintenance.
- Strong background in PLC programming, HMI, and SCADA architecture.
- Experience with CAD design and system integration.
- Ability to obtain necessary customer clearances (TWIC, DISA, etc.) and DOT medical card.
- Valid driver's license and ability to travel extensively.
- Physical ability to walk, stand, and lift up to 50 lbs.
- Must be legally authorized to work in the U.S.
Preferred Qualifications
- Bachelor's or Master's degree in engineering or related field.
- Experience with chemical dosing systems and water quality monitoring.
- Technical training in PLC/HMI programming.
- Class A or B CDL license with endorsements.
- HVAC or boiler operator certification.
