General Manager of Engineering, Solar & BESS
Position Overview
Key Responsibilities
- Lead multidisciplinary engineering teams across Solar PV, BESS, wind, and grid integration projects.
- Provide technical oversight throughout development, engineering, procurement, construction, and commissioning phases.
- Drive engineering excellence, yield optimization, grid connection strategy, and cost reduction initiatives.
- Develop engineering standards, improve project execution frameworks, and mentor technical talent.
Requirements
- Degree in Electrical Engineering, Renewable Energy, or related discipline.
- 10+ years of engineering leadership experience within renewable energy projects in Japan.
- Strong expertise in Solar PV, BESS, grid engineering, substations, SCADA, and electrical system design.
- Experience with Japanese grid connection processes including SIS, GCA, SCC/SCA.
- Proven track record managing engineering teams and supporting EPC/EPCm delivery.
Preferred Background
- Renewable energy IPP or developer background.
- Utility-scale solar, battery storage, or grid infrastructure experience.
- Experience working across project lifecycle from development to operations.
- Leadership experience in multinational organizations.
