Role Overview
This position is ideal for an experienced Geotechnical Engineer who wants to take on technical leadership responsibilities while remaining hands-on with design and fieldwork. You will work on high-profile underground and infrastructure projects, collaborating with multidisciplinary teams to deliver safe, efficient, and cost-effective solutions.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead geotechnical evaluations for tunnels, shafts, slopes, and foundation systems.
- Develop and review excavation support and foundation designs.
- Prepare engineering drawings and details using CAD/BIM tools.
- Conduct site visits for construction observation and troubleshooting.
- Perform advanced design computations and prepare technical reports.
- Mentor junior engineers and contribute to project management tasks.
- Collaborate with clients and internal teams to ensure project success.
Minimum Requirements
- BS in Civil or Geological Engineering; MS preferred.
- 5-10 years of geotechnical engineering experience.
- Strong technical background in underground or geo-structural projects.
- Proficiency with AutoCAD/Civil 3D and geotechnical analysis software.
- Excellent communication and organizational skills.
- Ability to travel and perform fieldwork as needed.
Preferred Qualifications
- PE license in Colorado (or ability to obtain within 6 months).
- Experience with tunneling, trenchless, or ground improvement projects.
- Familiarity with structural analysis tools and advanced modeling.
Compensation & Benefits
- Salary Range: $95,000-$130,000 annually, based on experience.
