District Sales Manager - Southeast Territory

Location: Georgia or South Carolina (relocation considered)

A growing provider of industrial water and wastewater treatment solutions is seeking a District Sales Manager to drive business growth across the Southeast region. The successful candidate will combine technical knowledge, consultative selling skills, and strong relationship-building abilities to support customers and expand market share. Position Summary

The District Sales Manager is responsible for developing and executing sales strategies within an assigned territory, managing customer relationships, and providing technical support to industrial customers. This role requires a strong focus on business development, customer service, and technical problem-solving.

The ideal candidate has experience in industrial wastewater treatment, chemical sales, or a related technical industry and enjoys working closely with customers to solve operational challenges and drive continuous improvement.


Key Responsibilities

Sales & Business Development

  • Develop and execute territory sales plans to achieve growth objectives.
  • Identify and pursue new business opportunities while expanding existing accounts.
  • Build long-term relationships with plant managers, operations leaders, and executive stakeholders.
  • Collaborate with customers to identify opportunities for operational improvements and cost savings.
  • Promote innovative treatment technologies and solutions that improve customer performance.
  • Achieve sales and profitability goals within the assigned territory.

Customer Support & Technical Service

  • Provide on-site and virtual technical support to customers.
  • Troubleshoot treatment system challenges and recommend corrective actions.
  • Conduct system evaluations, interpret process data, and provide written recommendations.
  • Support customers with equipment maintenance and program optimization efforts.
  • Deliver training on chemical treatment programs, equipment operation, and best practices.
  • Ensure customers achieve maximum value from implemented solutions.

Strategic Account Management

  • Develop strong partnerships with key customer stakeholders.
  • Maintain high levels of customer satisfaction and retention.
  • Serve as a trusted advisor on treatment programs and operational performance.
  • Support implementation of new technologies and process improvements.

Territory Management

  • Manage activities, opportunities, and customer interactions throughout the territory.
  • Maintain accurate account documentation and business records.
  • Travel throughout the region as required to support customers and business development efforts.
  • Represent the organization at industry meetings, conferences, and customer events.

Required Qualifications

  • 5+ years of experience in the wastewater treatment industry, with a strong emphasis on sales and account management.
  • Technical understanding of industrial wastewater treatment systems and operations.
  • Experience working with customers in industries such as:
    • Food & Beverage
    • Manufacturing
    • Mining
    • Oil & Gas
    • Other industrial processing sectors
  • Ability to analyze operational challenges and develop practical treatment recommendations.
  • Valid driver's license and clean driving record.
  • Reside in Georgia or South Carolina, or be willing to relocate.

Preferred Qualifications

  • 5-10 years of experience selling water treatment or specialty chemical solutions.
  • Bachelor's degree in Chemistry, Biology, Environmental Science, Engineering, or a related field.
  • Strong proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Experience providing technical support alongside commercial responsibilities.

Physical Requirements

  • Travel approximately 50% throughout the assigned territory.
  • Regular use of computers, mobile devices, and standard office equipment.
  • Frequent standing, walking, speaking, and customer site interaction.

  • Ability to work in industrial and wastewater treatment environments.
